Maxime Tortelier joins Demos project

Few other endeavours can boast gathering hundreds of children from tough neighbourhoods in the country’s top venues for classical music in order to perform a concert marking a year of intensive musical practice…

This year, Maxime Tortelier was invited by the Philharmonie de Paris and the Auditorium-Orchestre National de Lyon to be conductor of the Orchestre Démos-Lyon Métropole, comprising one hundred and twenty children aged seven to nine, living in or near Lyons et taking their first few steps into the collective practice of a musical instrument. This brand new orchestra’s first concert will be on June 23, 2018 at the Lyons Auditorium. In the meantime, the official distribution of instruments to the children did not go unnoticed…
